Hello, I would like to introduces myself to you I am Dennis Grim and I am the founder of the Transformation Life Center. TLC in its infant stage, however God has blessed this ministry right out of the ground.
Our largest goal is to educate, provide shelter and to mentor ex-offenders as they are re-entered back into society. With God’s help we are looking at a facility near the Ft Pierce Work Release Center and other avalible sites. We are looking to make the Transformation Life Vocational Training Center a reality and looking for funding for this program. Most wonder why so many return to jail or prison within in a three year period infact in the State of Florida has a 63% recidivism rate . Not until we educate the public that 90% of all inmates will be released back into society; that it is costing $2.8 billion a year to run the state prison system; and that for every 1% reduction in the recidivism rate will result in a savings of $8 million per year in taxes. We cannot continue to lock them up and throw away the key. We cannot continue to turn our backs and ignore the problem. This is a cancer that is eating away our society. The prisons are overcrowded; the state budgets are tight, so let’s concentrate our efforts in an area that will make the biggest impact, Re-entry. Lets educate; provide a place to stay; and an opportunity for a new beginning for those who are searching for a new life. This is why I am making it my goal in life to change these statistics and to help families of inmates to cope with the separation and then help them reunite and be reentered back into society. The programs in TLC ministry are: Families of Inmates Support Group that meets every week. Help forum to help those who are dealing with the separation of a loved one. Our largest goal is to start a vocational and job placement center for inmates when they are released.
